Galleria Palatina

The Library of the Administrative Office of the Galleria Palatina was established in recent decades by will of the staff of the Museum. Formed primarily to meet the research and documentation needs of the internal personnel, the Library consists in great part of catalogs of exhibitions to which the Galleria Palatina has lent objects from its collections, catalogs of exhibitions held at Palazzo Pitti, and monographs of artists documented by the Galleria Palatina. The Library also possesses journals and scholarly studies pertaining to various aspects of collecting (collezionismo) in the eras of the Medici, the House of Lorraine (Lorenesi), and the House of Savoy (Sabaudi).
The holdings of the Galleria Palatina Library number 1,400 titles, consisting of exhibition catalogs, monographs, journals and museum guides.
Galleria d'Arte Moderna

The Library of the Galleria d'Arte Moderna at Palazzo Pitti was established in parallel with the museum's activities to meet the research and documentation needs of the curatorial staff. Its holdings include publications of the gallery's collections, catalogs of the exhibitions hosted by Palazzo Pitti and monographs of artists whose work has been exhibited at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna.
Ca. 8,000 titles are held by the Library consisting of monographs of artists, exhibition catalogs, art journals, museum guides and a significant numbers of art-related offprints.
Museo della Moda e del Costume

The Library of the Museo della Moda e del Costume is specialized in texts and journals concerning the history of fashion and dress, extending chronologically from the 19th century, with its collection of rare titles, to the current period.
Manuscripts and printed collections are also held regarding the history of fashion. A limited number of ethnologically-focused texts are also to be found.
The holdings of the Museo della Moda e del Costume Library are estimated to be at ca. 3,000 titles. The print collections include sketches, designs and models of the most prominent fashion designers and stylists throughout history.
Tesoro dei Granduchi

The library of the Tesoro dei Granduchi was established to support the research and documentation activities of the staff of the museum to which it is connected. Here can be found exhibition catalogs resulting from specific art collections of the museum, exhibition and museum catalogs of similar institutions, both Italian and foreign. In addition it holds publications on areas of artistic specialization: goldwork, silverwork, crystal and porcelain objects, works created in semi-precious stone, miniature portraiture, ivory, precious gems, and jewellery which represent the treasures forming the historic collections of the Medici and Lorraine Grand Dukes.
The Library of the Tesoro dei Granduchi is composed of approximately 3,000 titles: exhibition catalogs, museum collection catalogs, scholarly mongraphs and specialized reference works.
